Rhodes_sun-in-the-Aegean

Rhodes has on average 270 days of sun per year, the most anywhere in Greece. The 35-metre high Colossus of Rhodes, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, used to stand on the largest islands in the Dodecanese. The north of the island is the tourist centre whereas the south and interior are more untouched and tranquil. The old town of Rhodes City with its narrow streets is surrounded by the strong walls of a medieval fortress. Night owls should head to the new town to get their money’ worth. Tip: the island’s most beautiful beaches are on the east coast.
